Layer 1 — HPMSM Producers (global)

Operating, developing, and planned producers of high-purity manganese sulphate monohydrate worldwide. China is aggregated into a single marker (~95 % of global supply). UPPR Michalova rendered as the copper diamond.

Layer 2 — Gigafactories (Europe)

Operating & announced European battery-cell plants: Northvolt, ACC, CATL Erfurt & Debrecen, Tesla Berlin, Verkor, ProLogium, LG Wrocław, Samsung SDI, SK On, Stellantis Termoli, VW PowerCo, BYD Szeged.

Layer 3 — EV Assembly (Europe)

Major European EV/PHEV assembly plants: VW, BMW, Mercedes, Stellantis, Renault, Tesla Berlin, Volvo, Hyundai, Kia Žilina, JLR Nitra, Audi, Porsche, BYD.

China dominates HPMSM

With Layer 1 alone, the imbalance is immediate: ~95 % of operating HPMSM supply is in China. Only three operating producers exist outside China. Zero are in the EU.

Europe is building enormous cell capacity

Switch on Layer 2 — gigafactories. Hundreds of GWh of announced cell capacity by 2030, spread across Sweden, Germany, France, Hungary, and Poland. None of them have a domestic HPMSM source.
